Finally there's no more unpacked moving boxes in the bedroom. I would still like to have more cupboard space (and bookshelves) but that has to wait until i have a little more money at hand.

The kittens have now the whole apartment as a playground. Although, they will stay in the bedroom at night and at times i'm not at home. The past two months have gone so quickly by that i can hardly understand that the kittens are already 7 weeks old.

At the moment i'm on a sick leave from work. My back started to ache when i moved (it's already been over a month!) and it still hasn't settled down.

Today i noticed that one of my neighbors has a netted balcony. I should probably go and ask how they did the netting since it looks quite secure (and maybe they would like to help.. =P).

Tarvitseeko kukaan valkoista työpöytää. Täältä löytyisi avaamattomissa pakkauksissa kaksi kappaletta. Saa hakea pois, en halua niistä mitään, mutta en viitsisi ihan roskiinkaan heittää.

Indian summer, here we come!

Starting the atkins diet from the beginning. The summer went by with lots of carbs and therefore gained few kilos back. But i have decided to lose all of my extra weight so here i go again.

Today is the second day. And i must say that it isn't as hard as it was the first time i started this. Maybe because i know what to wait for and maybe because last weekend i ate so much carbs that i was almost feeling sick. =D

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

On the other news we got a new sofa. Well not exactly new, since we bought it from Ekotori but new to us. It's sunflower yellow and we both love it. It's like a little sun in our living room. <3

I haven't done any knitting or crocheting in years but this summer i've finished one sweater, a crochet jacket and a crochet scarf already. My newest project is a carpet made of crochet flowers, although it's not gonna be on the floor but on the wall. I got the idea while surfing the net for crochet patterns.

Picture of the original carpet.

I started doing this with turquoise yarn but i think this will be for the practice. I'll probably end up doing it with dark brown.

Here's a picture of a carpet that i would also like to make and actually keep on the floor.

My grandmother died. August 12th. She was 84. The funeral was last saturday.

I was expecting it to happen but wasn't really prepared for it. The worst part.. I was going to see my parents that weekend and had decided to go there on saturday but mom called me on thursday and told me that it's likely granny won't live over the weekend. So, i went there on friday night instead.

When i got there i got the urge to go see granny at the hospital but since it was very late, i didn't know where in the hospital she was and so on.. I decided to go there in the morning. And what happened? 7.20 AM the phone rang. It was my uncle. He said only that "she's gone" and hung up. I'm not sure if he even knew it was me on the phone.

I didn't know what to feel. Last time i saw granny, she still recognized me and smiled. The last memory i have of her is the smile. And somehow i'm so very very glad that it is this way. But at the same time i feel so enormously guilty about not going to see her that night. Guess part of me didn't want to or something..

The funeral was beautiful and peaceful. I got to hug all of granny's five sisters (she was the oldest) and it helped a little. Just wish i could have hugged granny for the one last time.

My Inuyasha anniversary flew by so quickly that i forgot it! Shame on me. Since i don't have the date written down anywhere, i had to reconstruct last june from scratch. It was the night between 18th and 19th of June 2005.

I don't remember why i was alone at that time, but i know i had drunk some cider.. At some point i found an AMV from my computer.. Creed - My sacrifice. I had had that video on my comp for at least a year but out of the blue the AMV hit me hard. "I need to see this anime!" The rest is history. I spent the next two weeks watching Inuyasha. 167 episodes straight. Except the time i had to go to work (i think i didn't skip midsummer eve because of IY), i don't think i slept that much. *sigh* oh, the happy days!

Anyhow, a whole year of Inuyasha!

(well, almost.. *cough*nothing*cough*beats*cough*vin*cough*diesel*cough*..)

If you're into pretty cars (men), japanese high school girls and their uniforms (men), motor engine going roar (men), beautiful drifting sequences (men) and perhaps an Initial D (men), GO SEE THE MOVIE! If none of the mentioned make you tick.. There were also quite a lot of men (good looking) and VIN DIESEL!

Since he wasn't credited in any trailers and i really don't go snooping in imdb.com before hand, I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS IN IT!!! The last five minutes of the movie i was giggling on my seat and could hardly stop squeeing for joy. VIN DIESEL!!1 <3 *happy sigh*

Even without 'the biggest spoiler' the movie was most enjoyable. The first half an hour was spent wondering why Sean Boswell (main character) looked so familiar. Then it hit me. The actor, Lucas Black, was Caleb in American Gothic. (Don't know if anyone recognizes the series since it wasn't that popular, but i still get the creeps when thinking about it. *shiver* Horror seems to have that kind of effect on me.)

Also loved the driving sequences. The first scene in Japan was something that left my mouth hanging open. Beautiful, like ballet with cars! And there were more of the same stuff. Five to six cars drifting down the mountain road in the middle of the night in total synchrony. Wow!

Of course the basic plot wasn't anything amazing but i didn't go to see the movie because of the plot.
Cars, drifting, competition, cars, men, burning rubber, cars, pheromones, oh and did i already mention.. cars.. And of course lots of women in mini skirts (if a 10 cm of fabric around ones hips is counted as a skirt :P). Funny enough, the only 'panty shot' was underlined and happened at the beginning of the film when they still were in Usa.

One thing bothered me, though. Where was the fan service for the female audience?! Don't go looking for shirtless men, there wasn't any.

I'm not drunk, just a little tipsy.. *giggle*

Miikka is at the night sift. I went to celebrate our friend's graduation. Was a little late because of work (and a phone call from mom) so i missed the grilling part. But, we talked a lot, watched Jurassic Park (almost to the end) together and i drunk two ciders and little red wine.. Guess i should prepare myself for a migraine attack. Oh well.. Had fun! *grin*

Our bed is quite empty and i miss Miikka. Hope he wakes me up in the morning when he comes home..

Good night.

Okay, i did it. Now i've got "summer hair". I love it. Miikka hates it.

Me: How many centimeters you think was cut off?
Miikka: Too many.

Oh well, it's my head and my hair. It's still a little under my ears so i don't think it's even really short. And i have fringe. Haven't had that since second grade (like 20 years or so ago).

Now i need to decide the colour. Will it be pink? Would love that..

I rented Pirates of the Caribbean video (they didn't have the dvd on the store, apparently somebody rent it two years ago and they haven't seen it since). I feel quite pathetic, but i really need to see the film. So, bite me!

Of to drooling after Jack Sparrow..... *dripdrip*

(I'm seriously considering cutting my hair short.)

I WAS there! You can check it from tv. I did. I could count out at least three times that i was on the screen. My 15 seconds of fame.. *giggles*

Oh, i'm so very glad that we went. Lordi was great. We made a guinness world record in karaoke. *gasp* :P There was "Tervasaaren kesäteatteri". Loved it! =)

We managed to get train tickets back the same evening (great!) and were forced to listen to a bunch of drunken people yelling hard rock hallelujah half of the ride (not so great!).

On the other news, it seems i've lost my Pirates of the Caribbean dvd. *wails* I did lend it to Miikka's parents but i'm quite certain that we already got it back. At this rate i might be forced to buy a new one.
